A&P
de Villaine has obtained the healthy, high-quality grapes that are
necessary to express an exceptional terroir. The wine makers have chosen to adopt
a modern organic growing process. In respect to the natural balance and interaction of the
vines and soil; no pesticides or herbicides were used. The use of
fertilizer has been replaced with organic vegetal compost. With
these extraordinary variables well in hand, the wine making can turn to the vine itself.
In order to create a wine that rises to the potential of the varietal and the terroir, Domaine de Villaine
displays selective planting techniques and a regimen of severe pruning and occasional pre-harvest thinning.
This strict process allows only the best of the vine to be
expedited. The winery harvests an average 20% lower in yields than
authorized by the already-stringent AC regulations. The winery has
been certified by Qualicé-France since 1986.
