The Black Opal wines are supplied from vineyards found in South Australia all along the Limestone Coast, at Langhorne Creek and in the infamous Barossa Valley.
The Limestone Coast vineyards are planted to Cabernet Sauvignon, Shiraz, and Merlot. The region, well-known for producing reds of outstanding quality is rich with the famous "Terra Rossa" soil, which overlie a hard layer of limestone. Cabernet Sauvignon is a star performer on the Limestone Coast - producing Black Opal wines with a distinguishing blackcurrant and cassis aroma.
The Barossa Valley is one of Australia's oldest and most famous wine-producing areas. Founded in the 1840s, it has built a standing for producing powerful Shiraz based wines and full flavored Chardonnay.
