Campo Viejo is
the name of the history of La Rioja. A succession of milestones which play a fundamental role in the history and progress of Rioja. We have very carefully watched the birth of each wines, from the Wineyard to the bottle. At the heart of La Rioja, an exceptional land for growing vineyards and making and aging wine. Seven meters under the ground, 70,000 oak barrels and 6,000,000 bottles rest in an isolated atmosphere, free from air currents or temperature changes. This is
one of the best wines in he world.
The name Campo Viejo comes from an emblematic spot in Villar de Arnedo. A place called Campus Veteranus, an area of vineyards which was historically handed over to the veterans of the Roman legion as a reward. Elena Adell, winemaker at Bodegas Juan Alcorta has been involved in winemaking since 1985.
