Castello di Fonterutoli

Castello di FonterutoliThe estate divided between five areas: Fonterutoli, Siepi,Badiola, Belvedere and Caggio, located at between 230 and 500 meters above sea level and exposed to the south and southwest.

Fonterutoli is situated 5 km south of Castellina in Chianti (Siena), on the hills facing the Val d'Elsa, in the heart of the Chianti Classico. Owned by theMazzei family since 1435, it still retains its original structure, that of a tranquil country village: a huddle of houses, the church of San Miniato and the villa, built at the end of the 1500s where the medieval castle one time stood. Fonterutoli is a composite and diversified reality, with a discrete personality. Considered one of the most important companies in the Chianti Classico and really in all of Italy, it is always alertly on the sentinel for cutting-edge quality, in the vineyards and the wine cellars alike.

since of its location, Fonterutoli is also the perfect peak of exodus for cultural and panoramic tours of the most untouched areas of the Chianti region.
