Corte Giara

Corte Giara Wines Corte Giara is an innovative project, started in 1989 by the Allegrini family and a selected group of grape growers in the renowned winemaking district of Valpolicella. Corte Giara’s philosophy is to deliver high value wines for everyday drinking, that have a modern and stylish appeal, while staying true to their roots.

The Allegrini family, owners of the acclaimed eponymous winery, started the Corte Giara project with the intention of emphasizing Veneto’s winemaking heritage--proving that this region can produce approachable and easy to understand wines without sacrificing quality or tradition. Corte Giara offers the traditional Veronese appellation wines like Valpolicella, Soave, Amarone, and Ripasso, as well as other varietal wines from the Veneto region.

The winemaking process, under the direction of Franco Allegrini, starts in the vineyards with the identification of the best vineyard sites. Corte Giara’s vineyards are planted at some of the highest altitudes and steepest slopes in the region. Grape growers are encouraged to plant at high-density and to keep the yields low. A “quality award” is granted to those who meet the strict standards set. This passionate dedication to high quality continues through vinification and is evident in each wine produced. Thanks to the extended maceration with the skins and the fermentation in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks, the whites are fruity and refreshing, while the reds are juicy and seductive. Corte Giara wines are extremely versatile and incredibly pleasing by the glass. They also pair nicely with even the most exotic dishes.
