Encouraged by the Italian Renaissance, its balanced shapes, enormous façade, slight design and overall practical rationale make this building one of the furthermost examples of its style in Argentina. The facing brickwork shows the capability of the craftsmen who arrived from Northern Italy bringing all their knowledge and experience and who came to Mendoza brought by the railway.
The winery was sold by the founding family in 1970 and it was abandoned soon after that. Trapiche acquired it in 2006 aiming to rescue the spirit of its creation by restoring its original structure, recycling its interiors, and incorporating the latest technology and equipment for the production of its high-end wines.
Trapiche is located in Nueva Mayorga s/n street (M5522CHA), Coquimbito, Maipú, in the Province of Mendoza, in Argentina.
A model project for its times, it stood out for its great production capacity, state-of-the-art technology, ground-breaking design and facilities, the quality of its construction and its pursuit of the highest standards in viticulture and winemaking.
The Trapiche team was incalculably proud to receive the Trophy for the "Argentinean Wine Producer of the Year 2006", awarded by a jury of wine experts on October 31st in London.
Experienced, in the know and conceited of its history, Trapiche pays admiration though its wines, which are the best manifestation of its admiration for all the people who made prospective for the winery and Argentina’s viticulture and winemaking to keep growing over all these years.
